👋 Hi! My name is Deidrè, and I’m from the United States. ✨ I’d love to share a little about my journey with American Sign Language (ASL) and why I’m so passionate about teaching it. 🤟 I joined a sign language congregation in 2011, knowing only a little ASL at the time. It definitely required patience and persistence, but the more I learned, the more my love for the language and the Deaf community grew. I remained part of that ASL congregation for 12 wonderful years. 💖 One reason I want to teach ASL is because everyone deserves the opportunity to learn about Jehovah, including our dear deaf brothers and sisters. Sign language opens the door to share Bible truths in a beautiful, visual way. 🎓 My lessons will go beyond just the signs—they’ll also include insights into Deaf culture, helping you understand how and why Deaf individuals may respond in certain situations. The more we understand them as people, the better we’ll connect 💬❤️. 🔠 For beginners, we’ll start with the ASL alphabet. It helped me so much when I was starting out! If I didn’t know a word, I could fingerspell it and learn the sign later.
